Chronometer (aka yacomino) shares his enthusiasm for the Panerai PAM 422, a timepiece that not only captures the brand's heritage aesthetic but also delivers exceptional chronometric performance. His post highlights the joy of discovering a watch that exceeds expectations, sparking a discussion among collectors about the allure of vintage-inspired Panerai references and the nuances of their movements.

The PAM422 represents Panerai's Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days in a substantial 47mm case configuration. This reference operates within the Luminor Marina series, distinguishing itself through the P3001 movement and polished steel construction.
The 47mm polished steel case houses the P3001 movement and features a polished steel bezel. The watch incorporates a 3mm sapphire crystal and offers 100-meter water resistance. The case materials and movement specifications position this reference as a substantial timepiece within the collection.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking larger case dimensions and the P3001 movement within the Luminor Marina lineup. The 47mm case size and polished steel finish provide specific aesthetic and wearing characteristics that distinguish the PAM422 from other references in the series. The combination of case size and movement creates a particular positioning within the broader Luminor Marina collection.
Can we get a shot in natural light showcasing the gold hands through that wonderful sapphire?
Great choice β beautiful watch! Congratulations!
Classic look of many, the 422 is every bit as satisfying. I am super happy with these 3 references for now....all I got to do now is get some sexy strap like some of our fellow purist here! Cheers Nicolas! I canβt believe it took me so long to get my first PAM!
From zero to 3, you are catching up fast my friend! The 3 particular ref you acquired shows a lot of thoughts had gone into your decision. Will be interesting to hear which one you may have in mind next π.
When I got my first PAM, the 995, I did not think too much which other references I should get. I must say our fellow purist here has help me identify where I would hit next. As soon as I put the 372 on my wrist I knew I was going to want to 422 as I prefer these heritage inspired piece to the newer reference in the Luminor series...for now anyway!
Even if the 372 have no small second hand, I would love the movement to stop when setting the time...
