Nicolas (amanico) initiates a compelling discussion on the iconic Vintage Panerai 3646, presenting two distinct dial variations for community appraisal. His personal preference for the 'California' dial sets the stage for collectors to weigh in on the aesthetic and historical nuances that define these highly sought-after timepieces. This article synthesizes the community's immediate reactions, offering insights into why these vintage references continue to captivate.

" California " Dial or regular?

I must admit that I have a doubt. Any of those wh-ould make my day. If I had to choose only one, by a slight margin, I would say the " Cali ".

You?

Best,

Nicolas

The mixture of Arabic and Roman numerals gives the dial a unusual and exotic look.

I love both, with a very slight preference for the Cali -- more fun and interesting, if marginally less legible ;-)

...half a dozen of the other, when it comes to vintage models. I prefer the Cali dial, aestethically.
