Champthekid's original post delves into the contentious topic of luxury watch brands re-releasing or closely replicating limited edition models. This discussion is particularly relevant for collectors who invest in exclusive pieces, as it explores the perceived devaluation of their 'first series' watches and the broader implications for brand loyalty and collector trust. Champthekid's personal experience with the Omega Speedy Tuesday first series serves as a focal point for this ongoing debate.

to me it’s a near exact copy of the formally exclusive Speedy Tuesday One. As an owner of that watch it’s very annoying to me. Just saying 😁
Don’t you also have the beautiful white dial 42mm?
model and thank God I sold it before the steel version came out. The only difference was the red writing on the steel version which I actually liked better. To me this behavior by watch companies is a slap in the face. Maybe I’m overreacting, but I can’t help how this stuff makes me feel. I know watch companies can do whatever they want, but it makes me second guess future support of them.
To be followed by Part 2 which is Ultra Thin watches and what they aren't which will be about the bad faith actions of these companies. Marc.
This is for people like me who don’t have the Speedy Tuesday. Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes (if I have the money to spare). Do I have the money to spare? I think no. 🤣 Best Gatsby
A very nice new iteration! But… One of the key features (for me) of the speedy dials - and also very handsome and a differentiator- is the slopes on the subdials! A pity that Omega does not see it like this. However, I have the ST1❣️ I am happy! 🤩
