When it was introduced, i don't think that speedy was offered on a bracelet. I remember it in the catalog on a brown strap. I wish I was 50 2 decades ago. hahaha!

Supposedly this was the last one in Omega's inventory. Took the salesperson a while to find and was shipped in to the boutique near me. Cheers!

As you well say, it was a model for purists as you say which was some kind of tribute to the tropical vintage originals.
