Adam, known as Speedie74 aka Mr. Torquise, presents a compelling dilemma for collectors: to wear or to preserve a significant timepiece. His acquisition of a discontinued Omega Speedmaster Hesalith with the 1861 movement, intended for long-term hibernation, sparks a relatable debate on the immediate gratification of wearing a classic versus the potential future value of an unworn piece. This article explores the community's varied perspectives on this classic collector's conundrum.

Moooon!

Well, it was time to pick up my Speedmaster Hesalith with the 1861 movement, because it was the very last of the original series, which was discontinued in 2020, and the watch was waiting for me more than a year in my favourite watch and jewellery store.

I am planning to hibernate it in her original plastic and folies with stickers to preserve it for the next 10 years.

But Houston, we have a problem: the watch is so classical, so attractive, that it will be a hard task!

What would you do if you were in my position? Wear it or not wear it, that is the question!

Truly yours and HAGWE,

Adam

from the watch and to give it to my daughter as an 18 years birthday present 15 years later, if I am still alive!
