Dr No's initial impressions of the latest manual-winding Omega Speedmaster '57 models offer a compelling look at Omega's refreshed chronograph. His visit to the LA Omega Boutique provided a firsthand encounter with the black and blue dial variants, prompting a re-evaluation of modern chronograph preferences. This article synthesizes community insights on the design, movement, and wearability of these new Speedmaster '57 references.

. . . at the LA Omega Boutique.

Black . . .

. . . and blue.

For comparison's sake, side by side.

Didn't try one on, but was able to get a feel for how they come across in the metal.  This fresh look on the venerable Speedy Pro is most persuasive.  Up 'til yesterday I might've been inclined to go for an El Primero if a modern chronograph was on the agenda.  No more . . . the new '57 is that compelling.

I agree. I've seen them and even tried the black on my wrist. A very compelling model indeed.

I’ve seen the new blue dial at the Houston OB . . .

But, I really want to see the black sandwich dial!

That is the black sandwich dial, Mach. It's worth your while . . .

. . . to see one in the metal. Convinced, Art
