Nilomis shares a reflective review of the Omega Speedmaster CK2998, detailing his process of wearing a new watch to gain an objective perspective. His post highlights the watch's clean dial, comfortable wrist presence, and overall appeal to Speedmaster enthusiasts, accompanied by evocative photography.

Team,

I did with the CK2998, what I do with all of my new watches.

Wear it at the arrival day and then put it on a drawer for few days and, after this delay, I wear it again to have a clear and non emotional view.

With CK2998 did it again, meaning hit the full mark.

I already discussed the size (39.7mm, if my mind is working) and the feeling on the wrist (great if you ask).

Now, after the emotional phase, I took a deep look on the dial. Clean, without any unnecessary words on it (It just has "Omega Speedmaster" and "Swiss Made").

No need to advert more because the CK2998 is what is: A wonderful piece that is a must have to any Speedmaster lover.

About the Omega Speedmaster Ref. CK2998

The Omega CK2998 is a chronograph model recognized for its robust design and functional aesthetic. It belongs to a lineage of chronographs that established a distinct visual identity for the brand, characterized by a clear and legible dial layout. This reference is notable for its early adoption of a tachymeter scale on the bezel, a feature that would become a hallmark of many subsequent sports chronographs.

This reference features a 39 mm stainless steel case, housing the manual-winding Caliber 321. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The watch is fitted with a Hesalite crystal and offers a water resistance of 60 meters. The fixed tachymeter bezel is a key design element, framing a black dial.

The CK2998 holds interest for collectors seeking early examples of Omega's chronograph development. Its design elements, including the case proportions and dial configuration, represent a significant period in the brand's history. The presence of the Caliber 321 further enhances its appeal among enthusiasts of vintage chronograph movements.

An absolutely stunning watch! I have long sought an original Mitsukushi or XI 35th Panda but this trumps them both. The over inflated prices on the great market are not however reflective of the worth and it seems a shame this will put some off. If you have got yours from an AD you have got a great watch at a great price. Wear it in good health!
