with caliber 9300/9301 and equipped with a silicon balance spring.

It was already introduced in Basel 2013, but I can´t remember we talked a lot about the watch. Well, Imran (aka Miranda) mentioned it once or twice. Did I miss it?

The Omega Speedmaster is on the market for more than 50 years and we have seen quite a lot different versions. For some it is a must-have in any watch collection.
For me it was always a nice watch and some I liked a little bit more. But I never fall in love, so far.
When I saw pictures of the new ´57 it got my attention. The puristic and almost vintage style together with some nice technical features. Everything inside a wearable 41.5 mm case. The latter is nicely shaped on top.
Nice details on the dial ...

and a bezel I like a lot.

The movement is interesting to say the least, because of its technical features.

It is not haute horlogerie what we see, but still interesting. Quite "technical" and I have to get used to that kind of style. But I hope I am not a "watch snob" and I would like to give it a try smile

Unfortunately I had no appointment with Omega in Basel last year and so I coulnd´t take any pictures. My schedule was just too tight!

I had to wait until they reached the stores. So far I only tried the steel black dial version with leather strap. But there are quite a few more ...

Which one is the best? Leather strap or bracelet? The latter could be interesting for me, but my expectations are quite high when it comes to bracelets. I have no experience with bracelets from Omega, but had the pleasure to wear some really good ones from other brands ... and tried to avoid those which don´t feel good for me.

Until I can try my favourite version(s) at one of my AD´s, I would like to get your opinions on that specific model.

If you already have real-world experiences, pictures ... please share smile

Oliver

Aesthetically it is a super modern interpretation of the ck. 2915 Movement is superb and of all the cal 9300 dials the layout is best in this one Downside : it's a very thick watch and I'm not keen on the double sapphire box concept And the price, it's a very hefty premium Bracelet are much improved and this one had a superb bracelet Would I buy one? Yes buyer at 50% off from the collectors market Hope this helps Imran

Hi Oliver, I like the new 57 very much. I did hear it weighs in a little heavy and was partial to the titanium model... But after thinking more about it, going to stay with my current Broad Arrow... And Mondphase... I don't think you're a watch snob at all, and hope you find something nice to share soon. Best, -- Richard.

I remember well this one poping in 2013. I always liked the Speeedmaster (I have a Mark IV) and especially this dial that will never go out of fashion. Here, I'm not sure it's my favorite dial among the collection. I like 2 sub-dials dials but I don't cherish the type of hands on this one. Of course I like this movement too. A bit thick but I don't care as it is very interesting, especialy the balance wheel. BUT, one thing I LOVE on this watch is the bracelet. It looks modern as it is very flat

They didn't sing to me for several reasons ... (Sorry for the lousy Smartphone pic.) My likes: 1) The movement 2) The great concept to have the minute and hour chronograph accumulators on a single dial. Dislikes: 1) The date seems like it was put there after the watch was made. A frame could help. 2) The 9300/9301 is way too tall and this shows on the volume of the case. Too tall to sit comfortable on the wrist. 3) The bling (bracelet and even on the polished lugs) gives to me the impression of

... IMHO. I was extremely close to order that one. What put me off personally was the thickness of the case. I admit that the current cal. 9300 is state of the art, but in its way rather a formula 1 car, when I need a perfect sportscar for everyday use. In my opinion, the cal. 3313 is a perfect compromise of modern movement technology, performance and aesthetics, and so the Speedmaster Co-axial matches my requirements perfectly. Marcus

I tried a couple of these Speedy 57's--one with a band and one with a bracelet at the Omega Boutique in Orlando. I do have a smaller wrist so coming in to the store, this version was my dream Speedy. The in-house coaxial movement, sapphire case back, and date function all wrapped up in a reasonable 41.5mm package was "perfect" for my next watch. I just needed to confirm my impressions. Wow, was I wrong. As others have mentioned, the watch is thick. And I don't necessarily mind a thicker watch, b
