Jlux's acquisition of a New Old Stock (NOS) Omega 'First Omega in Space' (FOIS) in Sedna Gold offers a timely look at a modern classic. This piece, originally released in 2015, demonstrates how specific material choices and design elements can evoke significant vintage appeal, making it a compelling study for collectors interested in Omega's contemporary heritage models. Jlux's detailed photographs and personal reflections provide an excellent foundation for understanding its enduring allure.

In fact a NOS Omega "FOIS" in Sedna Gold.
Introduced in 2015 this watch immediately caught my attention by then .... but somehow never did make it to my collection.

This is now corrected as I found this full set complete NOS (partially still with the stickers) example : and what a beautie it is!

Here a few pictures :

Certainly some strong and welcome vintage vibes.

Great colour combination with the Sedna gold case and the brownish dial accents and ceramic bezel.

Very classical Speedmaster dial lay-out.

Crown and pushers identical to other FOIS models.

Nice classic Omega caseback hiding the 1861 movement.
This was a numbered edition not produced for a long period.

And a wristshot to show the watch on my 17 cm wrist.
Somehow wears smaller than the 39.7 mm diameter would suggest.
For me one of the most beautiful Omega watches from the last 10-20 years (of course very subjective) !!

Thanks for looking,
Gerard

Is this part of the lineup of CK 2998 panda (blue and black) releases?
