Forgive me for my ignorance but all I know about/care about Omega so far is The Speedy and I have never known about the existence of this piece until I fortunately come across it. I have never owned a gold watch so far and I still do not feel very comfortable wearing one but once I saw it, I know it

Forgive me for my ignorance but all I know about/care about Omega so far is The Speedy and I have never known about the existence of this piece until I fortunately come across it. I have never owned a gold watch so far and I still do not feel very comfortable wearing one but once I saw it, I know it is destiny!

This watch was introduced in the Basel 2008 to honor one of Omega's most distinguished contributions to the world of sports timing, the 1949 First photofinish camera, The "Racend Timer"!

1,949 pieces of this watch were produced. It is driven by the Omega Co-axial calibre 3201, COSC-certified chronometer and it has a column-wheel chronograph mechanism. The polished, clasped 18Ct pink gold caseback is decorated with a special Museum engraving and limited edition number.

The 39 mm case and bezel are made of polished, brushed 18 Ct pink gold. The hour and minute hands are also form in pink gold. It has a creamed opaline silver dial which is viewed through a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and has transferred pulsometer (red) and tachymeter (blue) tracks. It is water resistant to 30 meters.

Thanks for watching!

...I'm so envious. Nice to see that they made this homage a sensible size, though I would have also been happy if it had been one or two millimetres smaller.

I am clueless which original model that this watch takes the inspiration from and they do not make it clear from their website either. Could you please let me know if you knew which model. Thank you.

. . . to the original with a modern Piguet-based movement, albeit not specifically designed for manual winding. This was my favorite Museum piece after N o 6, the Centenary homage. I believe Graham had that one, as well as a few others from earlier in the series. Congratulations, Phuong; this one is in keeping with the rest of your collection. Cordially, Art
