I first got interested in the central tourbillon concept when I saw a friend's Haldimann H1 but the H1 being outta my league but still being interested in a central tourbillon, I chanced upon this:

I believe only Omega and Haldimann have central tourbillons but if I'm wrong, please let me know who else offers a central tourbillon.

I've googled and found some excellent articles here on the Omega Central Tourbillon.  Just wondering if there are any Purist owners who still have one and if you have any feedback good or bad to share on this piece.  I know its rather thick and has a solid back.

Looking at this piece and talking to many in the know, I agree with their comments that this is a very under-rated piece if anything becuase of the omega brand being known for more mass market watches.

The central tourbillon of course does nothing more for accuracy over a non-central tourbillon I think but the central concept just adds that little bit extra that makes it more interesting to me.  The application of the hands also have some novelty value to me smile

Thanks in advance.

I don't own it, but

IMO, this is a superb piece. Very elegant and original with the tourbillon located at the center of the dial, I'm tempted...Really tempted. Thick? Yes, a bit, but it gives strength to this watch. There is one in the window shop of the Paris Boutique ( platinum ), and each time I see it, I'm in danger! The price is quite fair for such a Beauty. To me, a GO! Best, Nicolas

the newer model has clear glass and chocolate pvd movement

Art (Dr NO) has done some lovely pics in an article on it. it is a stunningly beautiful watch which is on the top of my lottery list. if you really are serious about buying one there are several online dealers with the older models at excellent prices including a platinum cased one. the only difference is the crystal discs that the hands are painted on. in the older model they have a solid dial beneath them as in your pic, but the new one has no dial so you can see the movement. you really shoul

Thanks for the info

Hi Graham Thanks a lot for the information on also one of my all time favorite central tourbillon. I probably either need to sell my V6 or win in lottery. Hey, one day I saw the new version in Beijing some time back and I was also lost. But I believe I would take the old version in Pt Graham, do you know some more interesting details on the calibre qty or other stuff. Best to you Hans
