Have you ever been faced with a predicament of not knowing which watch to choose especially a similar model with a different dial from the same brand?! Well, this is exactly what I have had to endure so I opted for the easy way out (no, not neglect both watches!). I bought both!! smile

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the HU-01 from an new independent brand called Horologically Unique. Ok, these watches may not look unique in any way and could be mistaken for either a vintage Patek or a Murakumo from Kikuchi Nakagawa but I love the fact that there is no brand name or any form of script on the dial and for that alone, I salute the creator and that definitely is a plus for me. Ok, ok, a Moser fume dial has nothing on the dial either but we are talking here about a 36mm dress watch (44mm lug to lug) that exudes sheer class and elegance in my opinion.

Those who know me will immediately remark - Sham, this is soooo you - a dress watch with Breguet numerals which is almost standard issue in my small collection. The watches are manually wound and use a Peseux 7001 movement which is rated at +/- 7 seconds daily. That's pretty impressive when one takes into account the price at SGD1,800 each (about USD1,384, just over a thousand UK pounds sterling) with a further concession if one buys both like I did. Limited to 100 pieces, this for me must be one of the best buys of the year if you are into classic dress watches. The watches will be delivered in March/April 2026.

Thank you for reading

I agree. Superb dials, nice case, and as for the movement, it looks like a Unitas! Considering the price, this is a great offer.

Peseux 7001! Think you can see the number under the balance.

I saw. But maybe there is a link between Unitas and Peseux? Look:

Strange, no?

They are both made by Swatch Group! Although I believe they were made by different companies.

But they are rather different in size: 23.3mm (7001) v 36.6mm (6497). Naturally with the Unitas being a pocket watch movement it fit snugly in the Panerai revival cases. Cheers, Baruch

Isn't there a smaller Unitas movement?

The only one that comes to mind is the 173 used in military watches like the ATP in the UK.

Photo vie ebay Not sure about a smaller contemporary movement. But I love a bit of digging!
