In this insightful post, 'this_hobby_of_hours' introduces a rare Minerva TimeZone collaboration timepiece, highlighting its unique heritage and the brand's intimate connection with collectors before its acquisition. The author delves into the specific details of this neo-vintage Pythagore Caliber 49, emphasizing its historical significance and the distinct collecting philosophy it represents. This piece serves as a valuable reminder of Minerva's legacy and the enduring appeal of watches with deep provenance.

Perhaps what we have today in a whole generation or collectors that just don’t care about heritage or provenance. Until one day it becomes “popular” to know the provenance and to own the said pieces, I don’t see the current Instagram addicted collector caring. It’s shallow. All about flexing and getting more followers than anything else seems to be the soup de jour. 🤝
And when it comes to size, OMG. The number of times I have heard some collectors say oh, “I only wear 40 mm and above”. 🤦🏻♂️ ooooh, macho 😄 I have an 18 cm wrist. And yet I think this 36 mm case Minerva looks fine. Why? It’s all about the dial size. This Minerva dial size is 32.2 mm As a comparison, the 42 mm Laureato dial size is 31.3 mm 🤝
that it opens the recesses of some collector’s minds. Perhaps to understand that much of what they think they know, has been perhaps been influenced by the various institutions that want to think that way. 🤝
look for a sandy/beige one right after I hit submit on this comment. 🤣
