As most of you known James Dowling is the highly regarded author of one of the first Rolex reference books. He has written for many magazines and he is well known in the watch collecting world. Troup for his activities in WW2 These are his campaign medals for his battles during WW1 This is not his original medal but a similar medal to the one he would have earned. This one is much earlier 18Kt Gold version and is highly valuable. Some of these solid gold versions have sold in the $10,000 range when accompanied by the plaque from West Minister Abby.
