In a testament to the passion that drives luxury watch collecting, afaleh shares a remarkable journey to acquire four highly coveted timepieces. This article explores the extraordinary lengths collectors will go to secure their horological treasures, even amidst personal challenges and global health concerns. afaleh's experience highlights the dedication required to navigate the world of high-end watch acquisition, offering a unique perspective on the pursuit of grail watches.

So I had reserved and been allocated four quite special pieces and was looking forward to picking them up. Only issue was that the boutiques/AD where we in another country, separated by a causeway. What with my father being hospitalized and a bunch of drama otherwise, I just couldn’t find any time to make the trip.

We got some great news this AM, father was finally stabilized and he seemed well. I decided I would allow myself to celebrate and left him in the charge of my sister.

So I got he hulk washed and ready for the trip

It was an especially hot day, Which turned out to my advantage as very few people wanted to go on trips in this weather, quicker customs clearance was guaranteed

One hour later I was at the pickup location in record time

What with the increase in coronavirus spread in the last two weeks I did not want to chance infection, especially with two elderly parents and a baby girl at home. So I informed Patek, Vacheron and my AD that I would like the watches delivered to my vehicle instead of going in

I think this is a great idea, Patek Express!

As I was heading back home I noticed a new shack, never knew BR did drive through! I guess if Patek do curb side pickup why not?

Ice cream was just the ticket in this weather, it felt like a furnace today. It wasn't the heat but the humidity that really gets you!

Finally, back home with my four new lovelies:

Vacheron Overseas Tourbillon. Have been drooling over this since it was announced. So much better in person!

Patek Aquanaut Chrono in blue. So glad I got this! But now I need the green time only as well!

Vacheron Excellence Platine Complete Calendar. I am speechless! Vacheron really are catching up to Patek! The whole thing feels like a million bucks! Such an elevated execution!!!! WOW!

Moser Endevour Tourbillion. Because which enthusiast doesn't want to go through life with a Tourbillon from an independent manufacture as their beater/daily sport watch??? Such an amazing piece with the fume dial and Tourbillon movement on one hand and a water resistant sport case on the other! They even ship it with a rubber and alligator strap
