dxboon's post captures the essence of WatchProSite: fostering real-world connections among collectors. This recap of a casual Los Angeles 'GTG' (Get-Together) highlights the community's vibrant spirit, showcasing an array of impressive timepieces and the camaraderie that defines these gatherings. It reminds us that beyond the watches, it's the shared passion and friendship that truly enrich the collecting experience.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of this site is its power to bring people together who would likely otherwise never meet, and give them a shared platform for friendship.  Yesterday, a few of us welcomed a traveling Purist (I'll let you all try to guess who based on the tableshot!) for dinner at a nice little restaurant called Tar & Roses.  It was a fun evening full of storytelling, smiles, and laughter.

Good times!  Enjoy the photos!

A beautiful pocketwatch acquired by one of us.

This little Patek is so thin and charming.

I wore my Legend Diver.  It's been a faithful companion for a few years now.

Now, the group shot!  There were more watches than wrists at dinner!

This little guy was so impressive.  Wait until you see the movement!

The Simplicity of elegance.

My favorite Journe model.

Hip and square(ish)!

This watch is a beast!  I was sorry not to have gotten a movement shot.

This Observatoire is just delightful.

The movement in the FPJ Chronometre Souverain.

Another great piece.  I never tire of these Royal Oaks.

The movement in this watch was in great shape for such an old piece.

And now some food pictures!

Balsamic glazed ribs with fried basil.

Wood roasted English peas with mint and sea salt.

Charrred octopus with chickpeas.

Roasted artichoke with harissa.

Popped corn with bacon.

Chicken oysters on a stick.

Lamb tongue with polenta.

A close-up of the octopus.  Cooking over a wood-fire gave it some great flavor.

Bone marrow with pickled onions.

Curried seafood pot.

Hanger steak with duck fat roasted potatoes.

A cheese board.  I want to try this next time.

Ricotta gnocchi.

This strawberry crostada with honeycomb ice cream was amazing!

The special dessert of the day -- affogato made with Stumptown espresso.

Bringing some humor to the bill!

Cheers!

About the F.P. Journe Chronomètre Souverain Ref. chronometre

The F.P. Journe Chronomètre Souverain represents the foundational timepiece within the brand's Souveraine collection. This reference demonstrates the manufacture's approach to precision timekeeping through manual winding mechanics, positioned as a core offering in F.P. Journe's lineup.

The 40mm case is executed in 18k rose gold with a fixed bezel configuration. A sapphire crystal protects the silver dial, while the manual-winding caliber 1304 movement provides an 80-hour power reserve. The timepiece features 30-meter water resistance and is paired with a leather strap. Production commenced in 2000.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking F.P. Journe's mechanical execution in a fundamental three-hand configuration. The substantial power reserve and manual winding caliber position this model for enthusiasts who appreciate traditional watchmaking approaches within the Souveraine series framework.
