Okay, here I was on the third date of the ALS event week.  I know people are a bit getting tired of my report and today I post mostly the No. 42500 and the ladies' watch and LOC SPECIALS!!!

The familiar venue....

Today, I used "macro zoom"....

Special #1 - the pocket watch was taken out of the show case for the first time during this event week.

...and let us hear the repeater gong!!!!  SWEET sound!!

Got even closer smile

Interesting episode - this photo is clearly "before".  The top is what was left of "ratrappante wheel".  The team of Mr. Jan Sliva "guestimated" the size of the wheel and the number of the cogs (300).  Long story short, the first restored wheel was the result of trial and error and took such a long time, but the number of the cogs was 299....  When they found it out, the team immediately locked the window so that Mr. Sliva can't throw the watch or himself out of the window smile  He just couldn't sleep!  The number of the cogs is not really essentially important from function stand point.  But he finally decided to make it again - restoration is to restore - and made 300 cogs wheel...

See the small parts in the upper right of the plastic box - that is the one in the photo above.

Now see below "after" photo.  Completely restored.

Special #2 - the napkin and napkin ring specially made for the Lange Owners Club!!

Ladies' watch corner.

Special #3 - connected to Mr. Tino Bobe, Head of R&D, who was on vacation, via Skype.  He gave us very important information regarding the next year models - NOT!!  But he generously answered questions from the members.

Special #3.5 - Stephen's (BluNotte) farewell speech...  He will leave Japan soon.  We will MISS you!!!!  And his fiance (see my post yesterday) thanked us via phone.  He also graciously invited all of us to his wedding, provided that we pay for flight  smile

That's it!  You may have got tired of my reports these three days, but for me, these three days were very, very interesting and fun.  Thank you, Lange Japan!

Ken

Ken, you truly captured the essence of these 3 days...

in Tokyo with Lange. Peter Kesselman, President of Lange Japan, organized one of the best watch events I have ever attended. A perfect mix of technical information, lots of "toys" to play with, and a little bit of marketing. Lange's team is one of the most informed and welcoming groups in the business. Everyone from the top to the bottom is clearly passionate about the brand and eager to share their knowledge and exuberance with collectors. Though I am a devotee of other brands as well, Lange is

Ah, Adeline!

I truly hope to see you someday. When I was stationed in NY (until June this year) and visit Tokyo once or twice a year, he was always here to help me. He was the one who took me through the gateway to the watch lovers circle of Japan and the wonderful Lange Japan staff as well as prominent retailers and such. I DO owe him a lot and I am the one to thank. Best wishes and congratulations again! Ken

Thank you Ken.............

For all three of your reports, I was thankful that I was able to see each part straight after each other and not have to wait. The 42500 was absolutely stunning and your photos certainly do it full justice. The before and after photos, certainly show what brilliant craftmanship and skill these watchmakers have. And that is a slight understatement.

Wonderful event, watches, and fellow collectors. Lange is always first class. Imprinted napkins and napkin rings?! Watches or otherwise, always the fine touches you don't expect..... Keep these types of reports coming. Much appreciated.
