As those in the “know”… the OEM box for Langematik Perpetual doubles as a winder for the piece and tips the scales at a hefty 7 kgs…hence its moniker “the dead donkey.”

This bulk is so prohibitive that many sets don’t come with the winder, but just come with a plain box or no box at all.

Note the 2nd picture you can see the gears from the back side and the battery compartment that holds 2 D cells and rotation control.

That's a good feature for a perpetual calendar, as you won't have to et your calendar if you don't wear your watch, BUT...

I am not in favor of these winders. I prefer setting the calendar, and giving the watch some rest.

Wear and tear or just for the pleasure to set them up?

I see. I always wondered about watch winder. I guess it’s good if the watch is not running all the time?
