It's a pity that the 118.021 is no longer made. I hope Lange will start the Cabaret series back up again with a WG or Platinum Moonphase edition next year, but keep it the same size. I noticed that when Lange enlarged the case size of the "Cabaret Tourbillon," the date suddenly looked too small and the dial unattractive. Now...a "Cabaret Lumen" would absolutely be something to die for!

About the A. Lange and Söhne Emil Lange Ref. 1815

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 reference 206.032, introduced in 1999, is a notable example of the brand's commitment to traditional watchmaking principles. This model is part of the 1815 collection, which pays homage to the birth year of Ferdinand Adolph Lange and emphasizes classic design elements such as Arabic numerals and blued hands, drawing inspiration from historical Lange pocket watches. It represents a more understated and purist aesthetic compared to some of the brand's more complex offerings, focusing on fundamental horological excellence.

This particular reference features an 18k rose gold case measuring 36mm in diameter and 7.5mm in thickness. It houses the manually wound L941.1 caliber, visible through a sapphire crystal case back. The movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal on the front, protecting a solid silver dial. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, suitable for everyday wear but not for immersion.

The 1815 206.032 appeals to collectors who appreciate classical proportions and a focus on fundamental watchmaking without excessive complications. Its smaller case size reflects a more traditional approach to men's wristwatches, making it a desirable piece for those seeking a discreet yet highly refined timepiece. The combination of rose gold and a silver dial offers a warm and legible presentation, consistent with the collection's historical inspirations.

Normal people buy beautiful things, kind people buy beautiful things. The difference? The beauty comes from within! Not to be judgmental, but if 40+ photos wasn't too much already, you may have overdone it with the Brioni necktie and the $100 bills.

And you are right: Lange should bring this one back.

Use a tooth pick to set the moonphase and the date, rather than the tool the watch is provided with, it will avoid you some hairlines... Best, Nicolas

I'm glad I haven't used the quick set function yet. Do you recommend covering the toothpick with something, like tissue?

Toothpicks are quite soft, so you should be fine. And I love that you purchased a yellow gold watch with a really nice brown strap. That Cabaret is a classic, killer combo -- really beautiful. And from the looks of your 9th and 10th photos -- the "money shots" -- you paid cash for it!

First, huge congratz for this original Lange. There are many very good pictures of this watch, it catches up the fact we don't see it much. Thank you for sharing your new friend, enjoy it well! Cheers, Mark
