Fernando recounts his experience at a Jaeger-LeCoultre Heritage Boutique event in Hong Kong, where he met fellow collectors and industry figures like Amanico (Nicolas). Despite recovering from an illness, Fernando's post captures the vibrant atmosphere and highlights the new Geophysic model, offering a glimpse into a memorable community gathering.

As fate would have it, on the day of finally meeting Amanico (Vlad) in the flesh I was still recovering from an illness and not until the final moment did I decide to risk it and attend the event held at the JLC Heritage Boutique in HK. I'm glad I did. Seeing old friends and meeting new ones with the same interest is always a pleasure and the 'Man' himself didn't disappoint. His larger than life image is well deserved as his charm and charisma will soon win you over โ€“ or you will face the dreaded fangs.smile

He is in his element when it comes to talking about watches, with his vast knowledge of both vintage and modern, casting a spell on anyone within earshot. An attendee told me later that he never had any interest in vintage before but has totally changed his mind since. Is this the vampire's curse? smile

All in all it was a most enjoyable evening with too much going on to really absorb in one session.

The new Geophysic was the star of the evening and IMO the size and the way it is constructed leaves nothing to be desired and I'm sure it will be a hit when it is released.

I didn't intend to do a post as I wasn't sure I was up to it and thus I've only got a few (some blurry)

pictures to show. Hopefully other attendees will make up for my shortfall.

My sincere thanks to Nicolas, Guillain and the JLC team for putting together such an enjoyable and informative event for us.

Cheers

it was indeed a great evening. Pity it was not a Friday night and there was work the next day. There were lots of great and interesting watches on the table and not to mention one could easily just ask for any specific model for we were in the JLC boutique! Jet lag can be annoying. Hope Nico enjoys the rest of his trip and have a good and safe trip home. I have some pictures to share but they are not that great either but I have good memories of the night. Thanks folks.
