foversta shares an engaging account of attending a Top 14 Rugby game in Paris, courtesy of JeanRichard France. This post captures the atmosphere of the match between UBB and Racing Metro 92, offering a unique blend of sports enthusiasm and horological appreciation. The author also showcases his colorful JeanRichard Terrascope, highlighting its design and comfort.
Thanks to the JeanRichard France Team, I was invited to attend a Rugby game yesterday afternoon. But it was not a mere game of the French League, the Top 14 (14 teams play in this league). My team, the UBB, from Bordeaux, was coming to Paris to play against the Racing Metro 92 Rugby!
Actually, since the two teams are very close in the ranking, I knew that it would be a very tough game for both sides... and I have to mention that the weather was awfully bad! Anyway, the Rugby players don't fear drops of water!
I propose you to browse some pictures I took during the event.
Approaching the stadium of Colombes:
The Racing fans are ready to support their team!
Poor me, a lonely Bordeaux fan lost in the middle of Racing addicts!
Both teams are entering the pitch:
The game and the fight start:
This is one of the most interesting phases of a Rugby game: playing the line-out. The role of the second row players is crucial here in order to catch the ball. The ball is thrown by the hooker:
The famous scrum:
The player from Bordeaux is kicking a foot penalty.
Some neighbours have the ability to see the full game from their flats! What a grew view... if you live on the upper floors!
Another line-out. Do you see how the Racing Metro player catch the ball with the help of his teammates?
Half-Time!
The opportunity to see on the screen a JeanRichard ad with the watch dedicated to the Racing Metro displayed on the screen. I remind you that JeanRichard is very involved in Rugby in France with partnerships with clubs like the Racing Metro and the LOU (Lyon). JeanRichard also participated to the French Rugby Oscars several weeks ago and the different winners got a JeanRichard watch as a prize.
Of course, for such event, I could only wear a JeanRichard watch! This is the most colourful Terrascope... perfect for the Summer! It is the reason why I wear it in January on a rainy day! A way to see the bright side of life...
I like this watch. The mix of colours create a feeling to have a kind of Lego watch on the wrist. The polished and vertically satin-finished aluminium case makes it very comfortable. The watch is powered by the JR60 movement which is a Sellita SW200 with a 4hz frequency and a power reserve of around 40 hours.
The case diameter is 44mm which is rather large. But thanks to its cushion shape and the short lugs, the perceived size is smaller than the actual one.
The second half is about to start.
The small and funny plane on the foreground is used to carry the tee to the player who will kick the penalty.
Sometimes, I find the the Racing Metro Mascot really scary!
Here is the Terrascope Racing Metro on my wrist. The watch belongs to a member of the management team of the Racing Metro. This watch is his daily beater!
At the end, my team lost 12-9 and it was a bit frustrating for me because I have the feeling, also shared by the Racing Metro fans, that the UBB played better! Anyway, that's life and we will have more opportunities in the future to stay on the top half of the ranking. It is very important to be able to finish among the first 6 teams, let's hope we will manage to achieve this objective.
Time is coming to leave the JeanRichard team, hopefully I can have a last look on this fun watch which accompanied me during the afternoon.
I would like to thank a lot the JeanRichard team for the invitation.
