Blomman Mr Blue introduces the JeanRichard Terrascope with a new 39mm case size and blue dial, a significant expansion from its previous 44mm offering. This post explores how the smaller dimension makes the watch more versatile for both women and men with smaller wrists, while retaining the brand's distinctive modular case structure and dial aesthetics.
Friends,
I have finally come around to make a post about this new offering from JeanRichard!
Earlier I wrote about the Terrascope GMT and pointed out some of the new features from JR. Now I like to return and put a light on another of the new thing from the brand: the 39 mm Terrascope!
Previously the Terrascope was only offered in 44 mm which make a lot of the ladies feel left out…
This year the 39 mm case is introduced. The case is of the same modular structure but smaller, 39 mm in diameter and 10.30 mm thick.
I think the downsizing of the case been made in a very nice way, keeping the proportions in a good way.
By this move JeanRichard makes this watch more accessible for ladies and for men with thinner wrist or taste for less pronounced watches.
The modular case offers a variety of versions, plain bezel, diamond bezel, steel or gold bezel…
And that goes also for the dial versions. Here I will focus on the blue dial which I find awesome!
The adjustment on the dial for the smaller size has been made. Instead of “Terrascope, Automatic, 10 ATM” as on the 44 mm, here you will only find the JR logo and “Automatic”.
Here is a shot of the 44 mm for comparison:
The blue dial pattern is unique for each watch; the texture is made by an electric discharge technique, creating the pattern.
Another new feature already shown on the Terrascope GMT, the suspended indexes “floating” above the dial surface enhances the depth of the dial.
One nice detail I like a lot is the blue date window, not disturbing too much… Just adding the value of the date. The red arrow on the seconds hand makes a good accent to all the blue.
Molded rubber strap or bracelet. The rubber strap offers the look of ostrich and the comfort and resistance of rubber.
On the new 39 mm the open case back is added. Here I don’t mind the opening since it is made with nice proportions and the movement matches the case size.
On the 44 mm version the case back is closed, which I also find as a good solution due to the movement size.
Here is a wrist shot of the 44 mm version showing the depth and the texture of the dial:
And a closer look, notice the shadows under the suspended indexes:
Side-by-side, 44 mm/39 mm.
Another strong offering from JeanRichard, I must say I really like where they are going with their new line!
Will return with more versions of this 39 mm Terrascope, even more feminine. Stay tuned!
Best
Blomman

The direction they are heading feels like a huge step in the right direction! :) Will post more 39 mm versions soon. Some of them I think will tempt more guys than gals! ;) 39 mm the size of many vintage sports watches... Best Blomman
the 39mm is attractive, especially the sane size. Looking forward to reading your review and feedback.
Balanced offer! :) More to come! Best Blomman
Here are two versions of the 39 mm Terrascope with diamond bezel and Mother of Pearl dials. Definetly something for the ladies! :) More to come... Best Blomman
... it is practically impossible to find a dealer here. Only one dealer in Austria, only five in Germany (all of them being supermarkets!). Marcus
