This post highlights the synergy between Wallenda's philosophy of embracing risks and pushing boundaries, and JEANRICHARD's brand ethos of creating watches for those who live life to the fullest and enjoy the journey.
Las Vegas, Nevada (June 1, 2013) – Swiss watchmaker JEANRICHARD was proud to launch its partnership with high wire master Nik Wallenda yesterday evening. Guests joined Michele Sofisti, CEO of Sowind (Girard-Perregaux and JEANRICHARD), in a special dinner at The Mandalay Bay during JCK.
High Wire Master Nik Wallenda
Partnership Launch at The Mandalay Bay Hotel for JCK
JEANRICHARD's partnership with Nik Wallenda is based on the principles of those who embark on a new journey, reflecting the art of life in its collections, as Wallenda does in his daily activities. In the same way that Wallenda enjoys the challenge of walking on a wire, JEANRICHARD creates watches for those who enjoy authenticity and live their lives to the fullest. They are for the independent spirit who play by their own rules and rather than just focusing on the destination, prefer to enjoy the road being traveled.
"It is incredible to think that this man was the first person to ever walk across the Niagara Falls on a two-inch steel wire and that he will do the same later this month in the Grand Canyon", said Michele Sofisti, CEO of Sowind (Girard-Perregaux and JEANRICHARD). "Nik represents this sense of unique adventure of JEANRICHARD: ordinary people doing incredible and extraordinary things."
"I am very proud to be a part of the JEANRICHARD family and excited to bring my own Philosophy of Life to the mix", said Wallenda. "Our vision is one that embraces the love of risks and pushing boundaries."
The JEANRICHARD lifestyle conveys a strong mindset that inspires new challenges without compromising powerful design or reliable performance, as seen in their four collections showcased at JCK: 1681, Terrascope, Aeroscope and Aquascope.
During the dinner, Wallenda was presented with a Terrascope timepiece to commemorate the new relationship with JEANRICHARD. The Terrascope Collection offers a 44 mm cushion-shaped case reinforced by two lateral arms, proving that pleasing design is not delivered without utility measured for adventure. At the same time, its self-winding JR60 movement provides the accuracy required of a watch that will accompany your day-to-day life.

I guess we might see a trend in brand ambassadors coming from all walks of life....
since he is going to walk it (I assume) the way he did over the Niagara Falls - connected to the wire. This was really special:
ABC-TV made him wear a tether over Niagara, he was very strongly against it. Told me he almost disconnected it, but that would have been going against his word. That was the first time he ever used it, and he says the last as well.
If he's not using one during the Grand Canyon crossing I want to watch it live. By the way, i f he's going to cross the canyon unconnected (since he did the falls crossing connected) it should have been stated - makes a big difference, IMO. Best Regards, Marcelo
Nik Wallenda is my hero. I've been fascinated and deeply moved by his and his father's and his family's heart-rending grace, para-human composure, and bravery. I don't know if any ambassador can do the trick, but this is a really wild and probably personal choice (my guess) from a company I'll pay more attention to, for this reason alone.
