I do think one day soon a Jaquet Droz will enter my collection. Of the ones you showed, my absolute favourite is The Loving Butterfly. I will be very tempted to empty my wallet if I see that one in the Shanghai boutique. Thanks for the wonderful report. Dean
Like I said, Dean, J*D is getting back on its feet and coming back - to put it mildly, it had been in the tunnel for a prolonged time. I would be happy to see someone put one in his/her collection! Lady 8 would be my choice - if and when I found someone :-) I love beautiful dials! Thank you, Dean. Happy holidays! Ken
Thanks Ken, Great coverage. This collection is really the core of J*D timepieces for me. The company wanted to expand their appeal and market share in recent years, at least that is my outside view, but it is wonderful to see this focus on artisan skills, dials, sculptures and beauty. They are drawing on the long history of the original Jaquet Droz designs and philosophy and I am impressed with many of these pieces. Thanks again. Andrew
... to me, they are coming back with their original long history and skill set, mind set, and craftsmanship. I am glad to see their new dials and aggressive new models (like Lady 8) to the market.... Ken
Paillon is my absolute fav among JD's special dials. Even just the pics is enough to convince me. Sad that i have no chance to see it in person yet.
That is almost "dying" technique as the Paillon piece is so hard to make today. I would pick that one, too..... But enamel dial, painted enamel especially, are not to be missed, either :-) Ken
