In this insightful post, eklektik shares his choice of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Réserve for a business trip to Korea, sparking a discussion on the ideal travel watch. His decision highlights the enduring appeal of classic complications while prompting the community to consider the practicalities of GMT and dual-time functions for frequent travelers. This thread explores how collectors balance horological preference with real-world utility.

Honestly, those GMT watches don't really make a big difference - at least not for me - and I travel a fair amount. I'd just stick with a simple watch! And never travel with a perpetual calendar, some of those you can't go forwards nor backwards!
Can you keep up with it? 😉
While not a true GMT watch, her hour hand can be advanced or moved backwards in one hour increments without interfering with the second hand which makes it ideal for travel. In addition, very universal design and "under the radar".
Love the angle you chose here to present the dial! Perhaps an Overseas Dual Time as a robust option for a travel companion?? Thanks for the photo, cheers, Filip
But I agree that with laptop and phone, local time on the wrist is enough! Best, E.
