His detailed photographs and insights offer a rare glimpse into a watch that combines military provenance with horological excellence.

If I understand correctly, the watch had been issued for official use within the Marine Nationale? But the delivery sheet suggests a private hand? Or what is/was Polony C. "L'Aubier"? Marcus
Looks like a watch from the 40s or the 50s. Do you know why it was issued in 1965/67 to MN personnel?
Wonderful report and pics.
The documents joined evoke joyful memories. I have attended classes at the 13, rue de l'Université, the building referred to in the papers as housing the Service hydrographique de la Marine having been transferred to my school.
Why not use this for the next "Tribute" :-D
This type of watch is one of those that I have never encountered for now many years now.. In fact more than a decade ago, I had a small time–window for one of these MN SHOMs, If a recall correctly, it was around 4,5 to 5K – but I let the opportunity pass.. – Stupid me !! (Quite a time passed since then – Great to see this fne watch, this great movement and the documentation). – Thus, thx for these superb pics and the pleasure to enjoy a really rare tic–tac ! Best, my dear friend !
