Amanico initiates a crucial discussion on the modern Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic line, inviting collectors to debate the optimal case size for these contemporary interpretations. By comparing the Tribute, True Second, Universal Time, and Tourbillon Universal Time models, he highlights the challenge of balancing historical charm with modern wearability, making this a valuable resource for potential buyers.

All is in the title.

With the Tribute, Jaeger Lecoultre tried to achieve a compromise: Keeping the spirit and the charm of the original case, and modernizing it, with a more acceptable size for the current market ( The original is 35 mm big, hich is fine for me ).

So, the Tribute is 38, 5 mm big, and 11, 3 mm high.

The True Second is one millimeter bigger ( 39, 6 mm ) and 11, 8 mm high.

41, 6 mm for the Universal Time, and same height than for the True Second.

The Tourbillon Universal Time is much bigger: 43, 5 mm / 14, 9 mm.

I find that the maximum in terms of dimensions is around 41 / 42 mm. With a height which should not go over 11, 8 mm / 12, mm, if the Geophysic case wants to keep this macho elegance which is so characteristic.

What is your take?

Best,

Nicolas

If the True Second did not have a date window then that one.

Otherwise, the original

You mean the Tribute or the vintage, when you say " original "? [nt]

Tribute first.

Then, the others. I like them all. It wouldn't be easy to say no to any of them anyway. Love the movement in the True Seconds, so appealing. Vte

Agreed on the Cal 770 / 772. I am not a fan of automatic movements, but this one is an excellent exception. [nt]
