I thought I'd share a brief review of my Duometre UTT in White Gold.  This is a Paris Boutique Special Edition limited to 100 pieces.  I'll focus less on the aesthetics and the movement (which are superb) and more on the functionality.

Let's start with an orientation of the watch face in the image below.  Here the watch has been set to 10:10am Pacific time (GMT -8) for both the home time (right sub-dial)  travel time (left sub-dial).  The travel time has a jump hour complication and can be advanced or moved back in 1 hour increments by pushing the top and bottom pusher respectively on the left of the case.  The arrow at the bottom of the globe points to the travel time zone. In this case it is a blue 8 meaning GMT -8.  GMT +8 would have been shown in red. Half of the GMT ring is light and half shadowed, showing day (for the light section) and night for the dark section.  Since the Blue 8 is not shaded, it is daytime in the travel time zone.  The power reserve indicators at the bottom correspond the the travel time on the left and home time on the right.

Now let's look at how to adjust the watch when traveling (following image below).  Let's say I'm traveling to Paris (GMT +1).  I press the top pusher 9 times until the disk at the bottom shows GMT+1 (Red 1).  It is shaded, indicating the time in Paris is 7:10pm as indicated by the jump hour window.  The Home time remains at 10:10am on the right sub-dial.

Now let's travel to India, which is GMT +5.5 (image below).  I advance the pusher on the top until I see the Red 5 (GMT+5) on the bottom ring.  Next, I pull the crown out to the first setting position and turn it until the minute had has advanced by 30 minutes.  The watch is now set to GMT +5.5 in India for the travel time, indicating the time in India is 11:40pm.  The home time on the right sub-dial remains at 10:10am. I should point out that the minute hand moves in discrete 1 minute increments when you turn the crown in the first setting position.

Another interesting detail is that when you pull the crown out to the 2nd setting position, the watch hacks and the second hands jumps to the zero position to aid calibration against a time signal.  In this position, turning the crown advances both the travel and home time simultaneoulsy.

Now let's take stock of the insane number of complications squeezed into this watch:

1.  Dual time zones
2.  2nd time zone can be set to any time you want, to the nearest minute
3.  Jumping hour complication for travel time
4. Hacking and zero reset for second hand
5. Two power reserve indicators (for home and travel times)
6.  Dual Wing system
7.  Projection indication of 2nd time zone
8.  Day/night indicator for travel time zone

Finally, an obligatory shot of the fabulous movement and also a guide showing the time zone for various cities:

JLC have crushed the travel time watch category with this watch.  The dial is tastefully done with a beautiful grainy finish. The white gold case is perfect for a technical time piece  and the bezel is rounded unlike the flatter bezel of the original Duometre Chronographe. The watch wears well - it is not small, but nevertheless fits my average sized wrist quite well.  I have seen the Rose Gold version, which is a little warmer, but my preference is for steel, white gold or platinum when it comes to larger watches.

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Chronographe Ref. Duometre Chronographe

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Chronographe represents a pinnacle achievement in the manufacture s storied horological legacy, embodying the technical mastery that has defined the Le Sentier-based company since 1833. Introduced as part of the groundbreaking Duomètre collection, this reference showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre s revolutionary dual-wing concept, where two independent gear trains operate within a single movement - one dedicated to timekeeping and the other exclusively for the chronograph function. This innovative architecture eliminates the energy drain typically associated with chronograph complications, ensuring consistent precision whether the chronograph is running or stopped, a technical breakthrough that solidifies JLC s position among haute horlogerie s most accomplished manufactures.

At the heart of this sophisticated timepiece beats the remarkable Calibre 380, a hand-wound mechanical movement that exemplifies Jaeger-LeCoultre s commitment to chronometric excellence. The dual-wing construction features separate mainspring barrels powering each function, with the chronograph mechanism capable of measuring intervals to 1/6th of a second precision. The movement s architecture allows for optimal energy distribution and enhanced reliability, while its 50-hour power reserve ensures consistent performance. Housed within a substantial 42mm white gold case and protected by sapphire crystal, the black dial provides exceptional legibility with its carefully balanced chronograph subdials and refined finishing that reflects the manufacture s uncompromising attention to detail.

The Duomètre Chronographe occupies a distinctive position within the contemporary collecting landscape, representing both technical innovation and traditional Swiss watchmaking excellence. Its unique dual-wing movement concept sets it apart from conventional chronographs, making it particularly appealing to collectors who appreciate horological innovation and mechanical sophistication. The combination of white gold construction, the prestigious Calibre 380 movement, and Jaeger-LeCoultre s manufacture heritage creates a compelling proposition for serious collectors seeking timepieces that demonstrate both technical merit and enduring craftsmanship from one of Switzerland s most respected horological institutions.

This is the most sophisticated Travel Time I know. I am a huge fan, which is not a secret. The on the wrist experience achieved to convince me, and I had a hard time giving it back to the manufacture. It is very high on my wish list. Thanks for this very well made review. Best, Nicolas

The one other "function" I have used is to use the 2nd time zone indicator as a 12 hour timer. Just set the jumping hours to 12 and the minutes to zero and you now have a 12 hour timer!
