In this insightful post, cfn shares a deeply personal journey through his Jaeger-LeCoultre collection, highlighting the watches that have shaped his horological path. His narrative not only showcases a remarkable array of JLC timepieces but also delves into the sentimental value and design philosophy that draws him to the brand. This article explores the unique appeal of JLC through the lens of a dedicated collector.

Sat down and took stock of my JLC watches today.

This collection started with the inheritance of my father’s Polaris back as well as his E873 gold memovox in 2004. Next one was the Master Compressor Memovox - and the rest is history.

I have let three JLCs go over the years, all to fund other purchases - a Master Control Hometime,a Master Control Geographic and the first Memovox with a sapphire back (I forget the exact reference).

Why so many JLC? I just love their no-nonsense approach to watchmaking - and I am obviously attracted to watches with slightly ‘off-piste’ complications, eg. the Amvox 2.

Thanks for looking!

Claus

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.

Claus, this is a wonderful collection you built all along these years. The Gold E873 is not a watch you see everyday!

Thank you - and the E873 is….

…such a cool and rare watch. The gold case gives it a strong wrist presence - and the design just adds character on top. Claus
