I'm very happy to share with you the results of the 2009 Chronometry Contest, which were just sent to me by my contact at the Manufacture.

JLC took the 2 first places!

The First place for the Cal 978 ( Master Tourbillon )



The 2d place for the Cal 174 ( Gyrotourbillon II )



The 3rd place was take n by a 36 000 vibrations per hour movement.

My heart felt congratulations to all at Jaeger-LeCoultre for their win.

A wonderful achievement; well earned and well won. What is impressive is that a number of firms actually took part. I have to applaud all who took part in the competition for their willingness in having their watches timed and measured against each other. I also cast shame on other firms who live on their past reputation and glory and who are not willing to compete for fear of loss of reputation. While I understand that some of the smaller firms do not have the resources available to make an ent

I was able to see it at the Manufacture during my last trip, and yes, you're right, this movement won a prize at a Chronometry Contest; too. Which is important to say, ad you did it, is that I was surprised to not see some reputable manufactures attending this contest. I thought the same than you: Kudos to all those who attended, without fear to compete. Maybe some didn't want to compete with " less noble " movements? Interesting insight

Hi Andrew, Interesting insights on both on the 'old' movement and the (perhaps) 'over-engineered' new movement. But than does it matter? Both look and perform awesome! In any way a big hands together for JLC! Great that they took up the challenge, competed and did so good. Greets, Rik
