Nicolas (amanico) revisits the IWC Destriero Scafusia Platinum, a horological marvel from the early 2000s that captivated collectors with its ambitious Grande Complication. His post highlights IWC's significant role alongside brands like Franck Muller and Patek Philippe in pushing the boundaries of watchmaking during that era. This piece serves as a timely reminder of a watch that combined a tourbillon, minute repeater, perpetual calendar, and split-seconds chronograph into a single, breathtaking movement.

This one certainly made a lot of us dream, in the very early 2000's.

Only a few brands tried to play the " Grande Complication " game. IWC was one of them, along with Franck Muller and... Patek.

Honestly, yes. Many so called Grandes Complications are not Grandes Complications, this one is a true one.

And being 42mm wide it is perfectly wearable

Although 18mm height works better with abracelet than with a strap. Amazing historically important watch.
