Nicolas (amanico) revisits the IWC Deep One, a legendary timepiece from the late 1990s that brought the mechanical depth gauge back to the forefront of horological innovation. His post highlights its unique character and historical significance, prompting a rich discussion among collectors about its design, functionality, and place within IWC's iconic Aquatimer lineage. This article explores why the Deep One remains a captivating and sought-after reference.

Reminds me this Aquatimer I was in love with in high school, but obviously never could get my hands on :
The brand was mainly “Engineered for Men” 😜✌️ The Deep One is a great watch! I really missed the sandblasted titanium aquatimer, which IMO was the undisputed “tool watch” back then before Sinn.
I think I had four of the earlier variants but never a Deep One. Cazalea
This was the last Aquatimer I owned:
I still own this version. Dreadful lume.
Wearing it today. Took me a while to find the rubber strap. It was never offered for Deep One, but the strap from Aquatimer ref. 3536 fits perfectly. MrkK
