In a world where many luxury timepieces are treated as delicate treasures, blau's perspective on his IWC Aquatimer challenges conventional notions of watch ownership. His experience highlights how a robust diving watch, often associated with specific underwater use, can excel as an everyday 'tool watch' for a wide range of active pursuits. This article explores blau's insights into the Aquatimer's practical utility and the community's appreciation for its functional design.

For all the talk about tool watches over the years there's a sense in which this Aquatimer is the FIRST watch I've used exclusively in that way: it's what I wear for workouts, hikes, outdoor and physical activities, and that's pretty much the only times I wear it. Tough and robust but light on the wrist, highly functional design. I love not worrying about scratching it and I love being able to use it to time two different things at once. It's officially a diving watch but I think it's at its best as a general active adventuring tool. The longer I've owned this watch the more I've appreciated it!

No fear watch = Pleasure watch.

Exactly!

I love feeling comfortable treating my Panerai Submersible and Tudor Pelagos equally carelessly.

Doing the same with my Tudor BB, and the funny is that it didn't receive dings or scars, though...

Same story with my Pelagos

I have the FXD and you'd never know from looking at it that I was so careless! Not a scratch on it. Can't say the same for the Panerai
