I was invited today to a very special event organized by Hublot: the meeting between Pelé and Mbappé. It is an event which was organized a few months ago but sadly cancelled due to Pelé's weak health.
Actually, it is not a surprise to see these two champions meet. Pelé is a legend. Mbappé can be considered as a future legend since he is already world champion. And like Pelé he scored a goal during a WC final while being a teenager.
These two champions are Hublot ambassadors. This meeting reminds us the strong involvement of Hublot in Football. Do you remember when Hublot has started this involvement? A lot were saying: Come on, a luxury brand doesn't have anything to do with football. Watchmaking and football are two separated worlds. And now... I think that everyday Ricardo Guadalupe can thank this decision taken with Jean-Claude Biver. The visibility and exposure of the brand have increased a lot and football (I don't want to discuss about it is a good or bad point) is becoming more and more a very expensive sport. Maybe it is losing its popular roots? But if we consider Hublot strategy, this trend is not an issue.
