In a poignant post, Subexplorer shares the somber news of Captain Scarlett's passing, reflecting on their deep personal friendship and the Captain's vibrant contributions to the WatchProSite community. Subexplorer's heartfelt tribute sets the stage for a collective remembrance of a beloved member whose passion for horology, cars, and life enriched countless discussions.

I received the sad news today from Mrs. Scarlett and I’m still in shock.

The Captain was a personal friend and we exchanged a couple of messages about two weeks ago. He showed his usual good humor and nothing could make me foresee something so dramatic would happen.

We have been enjoying a long time friendship for many years and at ends of year 2019 I had the big honor and pleasure of meeting the Captain and Mrs. Scarlett in Barcelona.
I treasure in my heart the memory of that meeting we enjoyed so much and the nice gesture of my friends of flying to Barcelona when they learned that I was visiting my family who was living there at the time.

We will miss the Captain so much. He contributed so much to our Forum sharing his passion for fine watches, good fast cars, music, films, good meals and travels and he illustrated his posts with his wonderful and personal style photography. (And of course he was a big fan of James Bond as I am!)

Rest in peace my dear good friend. I’ll miss you so much.
May the Lord receive you and give your dear Mrs Scarlett and all your family strength to go through these hard times.
Abel

About the Omega Seamaster Ref. 007Edition

The Omega Seamaster 007 Edition, reference 210.92.42.20.01.001, distinguishes itself within the Seamaster Diver 300M collection through its specific aesthetic and material choices. This particular reference offers a distinct interpretation of the Seamaster Diver 300M, setting it apart from standard production models with its unique dial and bezel execution, and the use of lightweight titanium for both the case and bracelet. It represents a focused design within the broader Seamaster lineage.

This edition features a 42mm case crafted from grade 2 titanium, paired with a domed sapphire crystal that enhances its vintage-inspired appearance. The watch is powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, an automatic movement certified to meet the industry's highest standards of precision, chronometric performance, and magnetic resistance. It offers a power reserve of 55 hours and is water-resistant to 300 meters.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking a Seamaster Diver 300M with a specific material and color palette. Its cohesive design, from the tropical brown dial to the titanium mesh bracelet, creates a unified presentation. The absence of a date complication further contributes to its clean and symmetrical dial layout, a detail often appreciated by enthusiasts.

. . . even though I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person. We spoke regularly on the phone for the last seven years and communicated privately thru e-mail years before. I'll have more to say next Friday during the April installment of Wrist Scan. Until then, my thoughts are for his friends and family. Bereaved, Art

I was recently thinking and wondering if there was something amiss with Capt Scarlett. I had not seen many posts from him. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in piece!
