Girard-Perregaux Traveller ww.tc Ti DLC, Reference: 49700-21-631-BB6C
Friends,
Lately, we had a lot of interest and questions about the Traveller here in the forum and now here is some more good news for the Traveller fans!
Earlier this year GP presented the Traveller ww.tc in Pink Gold.

Next step in the Traveller evolution is the TI/DLC case.
[Please note that the central crown is extended in my photos. I was playing with the watch and forgot to put it in place before shooting, sorry]

Black dial with red chronograph second hand. The red second hand really accents this “all black” Traveller! Like Darth Vader from Star Wars, all black and a light saber cutting through the night with its radiant glow!
The black dial with chrono scales and city names in white make great contrast and a very easy to read watch.
The only thing that might I think might have been better executed would be the hour and minute hands.
The luminous parts are quite small and the grey metal hands are not very visible against the black background. I didn’t have a chance to see the watch in direct sunlight, but I suspect that the visibility is much better in the sun…

Functions and layout is the same as on the Traveller Pink Gold:
Hour, minutes, sub-seconds at 3 o’clock and date at 1:30. Twelve hour chronograph with hour at 6, minutes at 9 and central second hand. The 24 hour World Time is operated through the central crown at 3.

Case size and shape is the same: 44 mm in diameter. Due to the Titanium this DLC coated case is lighter than the Pink Gold version. DLC – Diamond-Like-Carbon, which makes the surface of the case both “stealthy” and very resistant to scratches.
Personally I am not a big fan of black case watches and unfortunately this one is no exception. I know a lot of people love this kind of cases and for them this will be a perfect choice of a World Timer/Chrono watch!
The see through case back shows the automatic Cal GP03300. When you turn over the watch, you are almost surprised not to see a black coated movement….

Rubber bracelet coated with black rubberized alligator, ceramic folding buckle, with titanium/PVD blades.
I must say that I really like GP’s rubber straps, strong and firm but in the same time, smooth and supple.
[Here the crown is in place]

What can I
say – another strong offer from Girard-Perregaux this year!
Best

But I think it's a good thing that GP has an offering for all preferens and tastes! :) I am happy you have noticed the change here in the forum. Hopefully more and more will see this change and come join us! :) Best Blomman
I think it is now my turn to show another GP, I should get the last photos done today, so almost there... :)
Black cases... Moreover, the Traveller case is not my favourite even if there are some cool elements which were adpoted for this reference, such as the lack of crown at 9 o clock and a quite nicely executed dial. Though, I think it will find its fans... Best, Nicolas
Working on a comparison of the old and new case. Would be interesting to have a side by side shot. Best, my friend Blomman
But yes, it would be interesting to see the différences in the same photo. Best, Nicolas
