Friends,
Some time ago I had the opportunity to take this side-by-side shot of the Girard-Perregaux Olimpico 9238 Black dial and White dial.
A kind of Yin and Yang!

Even if they are the same, due to the inverted colours the watches hold very different characters!
The White dial version even looks bigger even if that is not the caseβ¦

P.S. No I did not double up on this one, a friend was faster than me⦠This time!
The Girard-Perregaux Vintage reference 9238 is a notable chronograph within the brand's Vintage collection, distinguished by its specific design elements and functionality. This reference is part of a broader series that emphasizes classic aesthetics combined with robust mechanical performance, appealing to collectors who appreciate historical design cues in modern timepieces. It represents a particular iteration within the Vintage line, offering a distinct character compared to other chronographs from the same era.
This reference typically features a stainless steel case, housing a mechanical movement. The case diameter is commonly found around 38mm, providing a balanced presence on the wrist. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, ensuring durability and clear legibility of the dial. The movement is self-winding, offering a power reserve suitable for daily wear and consistent timekeeping.
For collectors, the 9238 offers an opportunity to acquire a well-executed chronograph from Girard-Perregaux's Vintage series. Its design language and technical specifications align with the brand's commitment to traditional watchmaking. The appeal lies in its blend of classic proportions and reliable mechanics, making it a desirable piece for those focusing on the brand's heritage chronographs.
I have a little preference for the white dial one. But the different straps may influence my judgment. Should be confirmed in real. Thank you for the shot Blomman. Best wishes Alkiro
I do prefer your black dial on a strap. Indeed, very different character. Maybe I should take a Panda pair shot with the CC
Here is the white dial on a tan brown strap for comparison. Now imagine the black one on a similar strap CC
The feature that really does it for me in that case is the white / silver bezel, so a complete inversion, not one limited to the dial only - respect! And the bezel somehow pips it for me. Both are lovely, though Thanks for sharing!
.. I more and more understand why piece & counterpiece are the real McCoy.. Best, hs
Changes character completely! Best Blomman
