Afaleh, a discerning collector, shares his journey to acquiring a Girard Perregaux Laureato Middle East limited edition. His detailed review highlights the watch's unique aesthetic, value proposition, and how it distinguishes itself within the competitive luxury steel sports watch segment. Afaleh's insights offer valuable perspective for those considering the Laureato as a distinctive addition to their collection.
I have been considering a Laureato for some time, but just couldnโt find the right one for me. The skeleton was tempting but since I had an AP on order and still waiting an allocation I was afraid the Laureato would feel like a consolation prize rather than a watch pickup in its own right.
Came across this Middle East limited edition and decided that itโs unique gold-brown dial and the use of Eastern Arabic numerals would differentiate it considerably from the other luxury steel sports watches.
Still getting used to the watch as it just arrived today, I have to say so far I am happy with the purchase. Itโs a cool watch and for the 9k I paid for mine a great value, no the finishing does not compare with the big three, but it is a significant upgrade from brands such as Rolex and Omega at the same price

In real life the Laureato really does not feel like a copy of an AP as a whole, or any of the other sports watches, it has a more defined feel than the AP in terms of design as the Royal Oak is more of an aggressive design, but not quite as refined or subdued as the VC or PP, sits nicely between the three and offers far better value than any Rolex as stated.

So far I am enjoying this watch, it certainly adds variety to my collection overall and to my sports watch line up particularly. Might get a strap for it to see if that works well.
