Blomman Mr Blue introduces the Girard-Perregaux Cat's Eye Power Reserve, a 2014 novelty that blends elegant design with enhanced functionality. This article explores how the addition of a date and power reserve transforms the Cat's Eye into a versatile everyday luxury watch, while retaining its signature diamond-set aesthetic. Blomman highlights the meticulous guilloché decoration and the thoughtful integration of complications, making it a compelling choice for collectors seeking both beauty and practicality in a ladies' timepiece.

The Cat’s Eye, Power Reserve, reference: Silver dial - 80486D11A161, Black dial - 80486D11A862

Third version in the Cat’s Eye collection this year is the Power Reserve.

What separates this version from the Anniversary and the Bloom except from the look is that it’s not a time only watch. Still a jewelry watch fitted for any party, but the big difference here is that it has a date and power reserve. These two functions make this the perfect “every day” watch for any women!

This watch also offers a sub second at nine. Automatic movement GP03300-0070, with a power reserve of 46 hours. Water resistance 30 m (3 ATM).

Not only the functions make this watch more suited as an everyday watch than her sisters, the looks too. Yes, it is still a major bling watch! The bezel consists of 64 brilliant cut diamonds and 8 more on the dial. But I find this dial a bit more sober and more classic in design then the other two.

The guilloché decoration is amazing and the way the pattern is designed to work with the Cat’s Eye oval shape is just perfect!

The Cat’s Eye Power Reserve comes in Silver and Black. The high polished applied numbers at 6, 9 and 12 plus the hands and the diamond indexes make a good contrast to the guilloché decoration makes the watch easy to read in both dial colors.

Stainless steel case, same dimensions as the Cat’s Eye Bloom – 37.84 x 32.84 mm.

From my point of view, this is the perfect watch for a lady that only wants to have one watch! (Yes, I realized how theoretic the chance for that is while I wrote the sentence…wink) But yes, this watch offers great functionality for everyday life AND the beauty for any festive occasion!

And if your lady likes changes, there are both bracelet and options to play with straps.

Best

Thanks for the post, Blomman. Still, my favourite remains the WW TC with the MOP dial

And the jewelled bezel... For a lady, it is topissime. The Cat's eye has a stunning case, though. And a deliciously finished dial. Best, Nicolas

With the Diamond Bezel as well...? :)

You are such a bling person, my friend! ;) Well, I agree when it comes to functionality that the WW TC is very cool watch. But designwise, I think the Cat's Eye is more female and suitable in size. The WW TC is 41 mm if I remember correctly. That is pretty big for most females... Best Blomman

Simply beautiful

I really like the new Steel bracelet version with the white/cream dial, a very classy combination. Thanks sharing, we should devote more time to the Ladies watches from GP as they are really really nice. CC

Yes, we should! :)

GP offers very beautiful ladies watches this year! :) I am very happy to see that Girard-Perregaux (and others) pay more attention to the ladies. Not many years ago, most Manufactures just put a quartz movement inside... These are really fine horology watches. Best, CC Blomman
