For my 17 cm wrist, the 42 mm case works fine,...although 1-2 mm smaller would not hurt!! I tried also the 38mm and found it way too small for my wrist (btw also acknowledged by my wife )) ). The look of a watch on the wrist is strongly influenced by the dial opening and in the case of the Laureato is very small for a 38mm version. My advise is to never judge the fit of a watch with static wrist shots (videos are better suited) and anyhow always try before buying )).
42 for you,, the internet photo fella could do with a 38 imho
See my comment above with the series of videos I made on the fallacy of considering case diameter alone.
Although itβs the 42 mm all day for me. The dial, hands, indices are far better proportioned on the larger case. When I owned the 38 mm Laureato, it actually wore like a 36 mm on my wrist. There is no right or wrong here, just simply expressing what works best for me ππ»
That the size of a watch and preference is largely based on what a person is used to. Especially when first wearing a 42 mm and then putting on a 38 mm. They are just used to the 42 mm and a 38 mm will seem small to them.
A variety of sizes especially for different models. As they do not all wear the same.
