Girard-Perregaux had a strong impact on visitors' minds thanks to the impressive horological contents on some watches which were released during the 2014 Baselworld fair. I obviosuly think about the Tourbillon Tri-Axial or about the Neo-Tourbillon with three bridges. But it would be a shame to forge

The Girard Perregaux 1966 Dual Time, reference 1966DualTime, is a notable offering within the brand's 1966 collection, distinguished by its practical dual time zone complication. This model integrates a second time zone display with a day/night indicator, alongside a date function, making it suitable for travelers and those managing multiple time zones. It maintains the classic and understated aesthetic characteristic of the 1966 line, focusing on legibility and functional elegance.
This reference features an 18k rose gold case measuring 40mm in diameter, housing the automatic caliber GP03300-0094. The movement provides a power reserve of 46 hours. A sapphire crystal protects the silver dial, ensuring durability and clarity. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters, suitable for everyday wear but not for immersion. The fixed bezel and leather strap complete the traditional presentation.
For collectors, the 1966 Dual Time appeals to those seeking a refined and functional travel watch from a respected manufacture. Its design adheres to classical watchmaking principles, emphasizing proportions and finish. The dual time complication is integrated discreetly, maintaining the clean lines of the 1966 series. This reference represents a blend of traditional aesthetics with a useful contemporary complication.
Thank you for this review - I really like the dual time zone complication. Question, is it the light in your photos or are the hands YG while the case is PG? Agree on that without the inner scale the dial would have felt kind of empty/boring - this works very well! The sub dial for date is not my favorite, but on the other hand... A date window would have made more damage to this dial, I like it! :) Best Blomman
Now I know... The subdial for the date, which eats the 24 hours ring... Otherwise, superb case, but this is not a surprise, since I am a big fan of the 1966. Remove the date subdial and it will be very tempting! Best, Nicolas
Thx for the great and detailed report, however, it supports my initial view even further. This new model is not for me at all, so many things have gone wrong with this new development unfortunately. Let me start: Yes, the 1966 case is very nice. as far as I can see this is exactly the same as the 1966 Chronograph, however, I find the Chronograph pushers odd for a second timezone watch. It may be a good feature the move the second zone hour hand in both directions, but it does not look elegant in
Thanks foversta for the review on the GP1966 dual time. Dial layout looks good, and I agree with you about the movement being too small for the case. But other than that it's a very nice watch from GP. Regards, ED-209
