Gregineugene's journey to acquire the Cartier Pasha Meridian GMT 2377 highlights a common dilemma for collectors: navigating serviceability concerns for luxury timepieces. His meticulous research and eventual acquisition of this 35mm GMT model offer valuable insights into the decision-making process for a subtle yet versatile watch. This article synthesizes community perspectives on the Pasha's design, service, and enduring appeal, making a decade-old discussion relevant for today's enthusiasts.

The Cartier Pasha Meridian GMT 2377

I have been thinking about this watch for several years now.  I was off-put by comments made by my watchmaker who said "if you buy that watch nobody will be able to service it but Cartier".  I took his advice but didn't lose my appreciation for the watch and Cartier in general.  But the more I read the more I was convinced that he was only partially correct.  Although Cartier holds tight reins on parts many of their watches use ETA, GP or other movements that any experienced watchmaker should be familiar with and could service.  With my newly gained knowledge and confidence I rekindled my search for a Pasha.  The intervening years allowed me to hone my thoughts on the Pasha.  I wanted a watch that is subtle (35mm), casual but not out of place for dressier circumstances (not that I have occasion to attend many formal affairs but SOMEBODY is gonna get married or die...).  And my collection didn't include a GMT.  Therefore it was relatively easy to convince myself that I NEEDED this watch.  It arrived yesterday well ahead of schedule.  I'd like to mention Chrono24 and the seller Marc Gebauer for their fabulous service.  Their packaging was superb and everything was as represented.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.     I'M SOOO STOKED!

These pics are yesterday when it still had all 14 of it's links.  I have subsequently removed one link for a better fit.

No sapphire cabochon on this model...

Everybody said the bezel is a scratch magnet and they weren't kidding.

It even glows in the dark!!

One last pic of the newest member of "The 35 Club".  (did I say I'm stoked?...well I am).

It is a very versatile watch and it looks great on you. Most Csrtier watches can easily dress up or down which is one of their many appealing qualities. Great denim too in that first Pic!

I always run my sartorial choices through wardrobe (my wife) before committing so she deserves at least some of the credit there. The watch however was my doing!

Part of my thought process was this: "Produced by one of the most famous jewelry houses on Earth and designed by one of the most famous watch designers in recent history. What could possibly go wrong?!?"

Great choice. The Pasha is an underrated Cartier. I've always found it attractive, and versatile. By the way...Cartier services al their US-located watches in NY. And they are reasonable in both cost and turn around time, should you choose to use them for service.

It is indeed a modern classic designed by one of the best designers ever and built with the style and quality of the great maison of Cartier it really is a stand out piece that has already stood the test of time and I would guess will continue to do so. But then I am more than a little biased as I love Cartier in general and also am fortunate to own a Pasha De Cartier, I acquired mine with much less planning than you but by a lucky set of circumstances which I have previously explained in a post
