As is now an annual tradition (a report on the 2011 dinner ), Cartier held its annual Fine Watchmaking dinner in Singapore. The venue was the same as in past years, the excellent Les Amis restaurant. The cast of guest had some familiar faces, some have attended all three events, with some new attendees.

In between courses the guests were treated to lengthy explanations of some of this year's new watches by this forum's moderator. They were pleased that they had the superb food and wine - which incidentally was the same as last year, a 1999 Margaux - to distract them.

Fortunately some people were paying attention
There was plenty of loupe and glove action when the watches came out.

Amongst the favourites of the evening was the Panthere Masse Secrete, the annual calendar and the Cadran Love tourbillon.

The Rotonde Annual Calendar
Some of last year's collection was on show too, as were some jewellery watches.

Many thanks to the team at Cartier for the wonderful evening.

Pardon me, are they using to loupe the other way round?.......
thus, they might turn the loupe around. and also, i believe in the case of the lady involved, its her mascara that is preventing her from fully utilizing the loupe. hope that clarifies. best, Horo
My Cartier worn for the evening...Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph, with Chateau Margaux 99. As per Les Amis standards, wine decanted two hours prior to serving of the main. medium bodied, velvety and soft, hint of floral inbuilts and tobacco-ish...perfect for the wagyu beef. Marinated German White Asparagus with Uni and Caviar Parsnip Cappuccino Gillardeau Oyster Shaved Red Wine Foie Gras Steamed Brittany Blue Lobster with Tomatoes and Ramp Leaves Ravioli Brittany Cod 'Sous Vide' on Crispy Shrim
I also felt the same when I tried it on during the cocktail at Ion...but alas the pricing seems way to high for the pieces of tiles that are set on the dial. Still prefer the Santos Dumont Skeleton. :)
Cartier, in my eyes, have a the best balance between technical innovation and artistic craftsmanship....very few brands can excel in both. that with a jewelry and accessories business to boot!! best, Horo
