Mahesh's original post from 2026 offers a detailed first look at the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo 37mm, a significant evolution for the ultra-thin collection. He highlights how Bvlgari addressed collector feedback regarding the 40mm's bold presence, introducing a smaller case size without simply shrinking the design. Mahesh meticulously covers the new BVF100 movement, improved power reserve, and the distinct design considerations for the 37mm's bracelet and various material finishes.

40mm case of Octo Finissimo is a great timepiece...perfectly slim, well designed integrated bracelet timepiece with a bold character.

This reference has most of the industry records to its credit in terms of complications + thickness (thinness) of any timepiece.

the problem....despite design harmony,  visually the timepiece is quite bold & has a strong presence that could intimidate people with small or average sized wrists like myself !

the very exact point that Bvlgari has addressed with the release of a 37mm version that will co-exist with the current 40mm case size version !

What gains appreciation is the detail to which Bvlgari design team has gone to make the 37mm reference, rather than just shrinking the timepiece....

the effort to retain the essence of Octo Finissimo by keeping the proportions, wearability and the visual 'Roman architecture' inspired design codes - simply superb imho !

Yes...the 37mm is not just 'resized case' but has a new movement and an altogether new bracelet design that is completely different to the 40mm Octo Finissimo !

First, the movement....referenced BVF100 the micro-rotor automatic movement is designed, developed in Le Sentier, measures just 2,35 mm thick helping the entire idea of 'Thin Octo Finissimo'.

The micro rotor is made out of solid platinum and the movement is beating at 3Hz and has a power reserve of 72 hours with good amplitude. This is significantly improved to the 60 hours PR of the 40mm OctoFinissimo.

The movement is finished in good level with decoration of sun-ray Geneva stripes and a complete pearlage.

Now the timepiece itself....overall 4 variants has been launched in 37mm case size...

- Octo Finissimo 37mm in Yellow Gold

-  Octo Finissimo 37mm in polished Titanium

-  Octo Finissimo 37mm in Sandblased Titanium

-  Octo Finissimo 37mm Minute repeater

Starting with the Octo Finissimo 37mm in Sandblased Titanium, aesthetically exact resemblance of the 40mm version.

Dial is Opaline Titanium finished with black hour markers.

The timepiece is 6,45mm thin with the bracelet also finished same as the case...but the new bracelet has integrated folding buckle redesigned with twin trigger release, very practical but not the case in 40mm version.

Price of this version is 17,700 euros.

Next is the Octo Finissimo 37mm in Polished Titanium, by case dimensions this timepiece same as the sandblasted version.

Dial is Opaline Titanium finished but with rhodium plated hands and hour markers.

This version is priced slightly above the base version, at 18500 euros.

The bracelet is aesthetically different with polished centre links and intricate corners of the case.

you might notice, the hidden release clasp of the bracelet is tucked-well into the bracelet thereby not adding thickness.

with such a timepiece, imagining a minute repeater is not simple....which is exactly what the 3rd version is about !

Octo Finissimo 37mm Minute repeater with case dimensions this timepiece same as the other versions but 6,85mm thick...that is incredible !

Naturally the MR version has a different caliber, BVF362 with 42 hour power reserve. The case is sandblasted Titanium and the dial has cut-out hour markers perpetuating the tone from 2 hammers.

This top of the line complication will set you back by 161,200 euros....yes great taste could be expensive ;-)

Last but not the least, the Octo Finissimo 37mm in Yellow gold.

Entire timepiece is solid 18k YG, satin finished bringing visually an eye pleasing appeal to it.

Maintaining the 'monochromatic' theme...the dial is also made of YG and hands, hour markers plated with YG.

Price of this version is 50,000 euros

all of the timepieces are 30mm WR...so ok for splash only.

I truly appreciate the efforts of Bvlgari...personally I find the offer of 37mm appealing as this is very much wearable timepiece while being different to any other timepiece with integrated bracelet.

this 37mm case is perfect example of a brand with keen ears to customer's whispers, taking the right direction but at the same time improving the performance...

I would consider the 'sandblasted titanium' version considering its versatility and visual aspects.

which is your favourite version and what are your thoughts about this timepiece ?

It appears that many brands are introducing sub 40mm versions to their existing range this year.

I enjoy wearing Octo Finissimo but it has two major issues: 1) it wears MUCH larger than an equivalent round cases watch and 2) the bracelet clasp with friction pin closure is not secure at all. This new version addresses both .

Great to see that Bvlgari actually made a new watch as opposed to just shrinking the previous model just one small issue though 30m water resistance seems a little mean. Marc
