AndrewD's coverage of Bulgari at IGOTT2 provides a valuable historical account of the brand's presentation at a significant collector event. His detailed observations capture Bulgari's emphasis on modern, individual designs rooted in its jewelry heritage. This report offers insights into key releases like the Grande Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar and the Endurer, highlighting Bulgari's watchmaking direction in 2011.
Following introductions by Thomas and Melvyn on Day 1 of IGOTT, Bulgari took the stage. Mr. Guido Terreni, Managing Director of the Bulgari Watch Business Unit, spoke about what Bulgari stands for in watchmaking, and how the Bulgari heritage influences their watch designs. Bulgari make pieces that are modern, individual and full of personality.

A highlight was the world premier of the Bulgari Grande Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar with master watchmaker, Pascal Legendre, demonstrating the intricacies of the movement and its construction.

The Endurer. Large (56x51x14.55) but curved case fits the wrist very comfortably and the dial has a delightful wave pattern. In all the Bulgari pieces I can see the design influence of a jewellery house. The finishing is excellent and a lot of thought has gone into ergonomics, smooth comfortable edges, alternating surface finishes, and the like. And inside, you have the pedigree of the Daniel Roth automatic Cal. 1306 with 12 hour monopusher flyback timer and Grand Date.

Mr. Terreni also presented the Tenth Anniversary P10 X-Pro Diagono (an edition of 50 pieces). I have given you my thoughts on this watch previously [click here] and despite its' 45mm diameter the watch is exceptionally comfortable on the wrist due to the free-sprung lugs and fitted rubber strap. It's beautifully made too, and the PuristS blue color scheme brings the dial alive. Great aesthetic choices . Andrew
as exquisite as the grand sonnerie perpetual calendar is, I do find the New Zealand Rugby piece very attractive Thanks afor sharing J
is it multi-level or just matte/glossy? quite a cool piece, I always found the regular one weirdly situated between elegance and sport, but that one has CLEARLY chosen a side! a

Hi Andrew, Thanks for sharing your pics of the IGOTT2 Bulgari moment. I thought it was a great way to start the event. Both the X-Pro and Endurer looks nice on your wrist. Regards, ED-209
