Totally unexpected but against all odds BVLGARI allocated the Gerald Genta Arena bi-retrograde - Disney’s Mickey Mouse playing football to me ! I loved the design of the first one last year and even more the one of this year that has a retrograde date too. Here it is in all its beauty

The dial of this version of the Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse is made in mother of pearl. Photos don't really do justice to it

The box is also interesting !

I bought many watches (may be too many) and I did never witness the unsealing like I did on this watch. Fascinating !

Interestingly, at 15 minutes MIckey seems to cover the hour🧐 design failure or a quirk ?😅

The date (which I did set after the photos) is also retrograde, a typical signature of Gerald Genta

The case coin finish reminds me a bit of Bregut..may be just a distant cousin 😅

The rubber strap is very nice and comfortable. Appropriate since the watch has a WR of 100 meters

The BLV300 callibre seems functional, not exactly spectacular but the focus of the watch is clearly on the dial!

So what do I think so far?

I love that the Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse 🐭 is very artistic and unusual. Is certainly not a watch that draws a lot of attention unless you know about it. In this version the mother of pearl dial is spectacular.

Very happy with the watch ! A bit of a dream since I hunted to get one of these for 2 years+ (including the first version).

I did look at this one when it launched but I think it immediately said sold out on their website, perhaps I should've put in some effort and visited a boutique. Here's hoping you never have an urgent need to tell the time when it's quarter past the hour.
