Gerard (jlux) introduces the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver, highlighting the 'pristine grey' dial version. His detailed post offers an intimate look at the watch's design, the new movement, and the innovative quick-change strap system, providing valuable insights for collectors considering this modern sports watch.

That is the "pristine grey" dial version of the newly released models.

While many like the Royal Oak,my absolute favorite was always the Offshore : the real "mother of modern sports watches".

From the three new releases I have chosen the grey dial version which gives the watch a monochromatic look with nevertheless some nice color accents.

The case is build like a modern sculpture;here a few impressions.

FINALLY a movement that matches the size of the case.I definitely like the grey coated gold rotor.

The quick strap exchange system works very well with a second dark blue strap included in the package and which is certainly a good option for the upcoming summer.
On my wrist, the Offshore Diver with the rubber strap works better and feels more comfortable than a 41mm Royal Oak on either bracelet or strap.
Here a wristshot that shows the watch on my 17cm wrist.

Thanks for looking,
Gerard

It makes me definitely want to go and see one once I get the chance to visit an AP boutique again. The quick release option makes for a very compelling feature moving forward as it was always a hassle to change straps with AP due to having to use a stable block with a screw driver head or 2 screwdrivers. This could be a very cool addition for me in the future. Who knows 🤷‍♂️ Congrats again my friend. It just adds to your stellar collection 👍

They do a great job with the internal bezel!

You and I are running along similar lines lately--I've been loving my first Panerai, a 42mm Submersible, and I've been eyeing these as well, a watch I'd never previously thought was for me.

2 straps and a quick change system, these are good moves by AP. The watch looks great on your wrist, enjoy it!

I had Offshores in the past which did not wear as well on my wrist.
