Friends, After a long, long wait, this has joined my collection today! My first RO and a true beauty to observe. I'm checking the time every 30 seconds... I apologise for the poor iPhone photos. I will try to upload some better pictures over the weekend. Best,
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked, reference 15407ST, is a significant offering within the Royal Oak collection, distinguished by its highly technical and visually complex openworked dial. It represents Audemars Piguet's commitment to combining traditional haute horlogerie with contemporary design, showcasing the intricate mechanics of its in-house movements.
This reference features a 41mm stainless steel case with the signature octagonal bezel, secured by eight hexagonal screws. The openworked dial reveals the Caliber 3132, an automatic movement equipped with two balance wheels and two hairsprings assembled on the same axis, designed to improve precision and stability. The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of approximately 45 hours.
For collectors, the 15407ST is notable for its blend of technical innovation and aesthetic transparency. The double balance wheel mechanism is a focal point, visible through the skeletonized dial and sapphire case back. Its stainless steel construction and integrated bracelet maintain the Royal Oak's sport-luxury identity, making it a highly sought-after piece that bridges mechanical artistry with everyday wearability.
That is an amazing blend of horological and artistic mastery. Enjoy it!
Amazing timepiece. What’s your definition of a “long long wait”?
At the same it is possibly the best-looking skeletonized watch on the market.
Maybe one of my fav RO till today 👌🏻 Wear it in best of health
What a first RO to start with! It’s a beautiful watch, with a lot of artistry.
It’s a bit flashier than my usual taste but the open work is so gorgeous that the extra bling is quickly forgiven.
