Less than 2 weeks ago ( see my post on 30th. Oct ) a new ALS convert, let's called him Mr. T, acquired his first Lange, the Datograph Up/down.

He vowed that this would be his one and only Lange....... but we know better, don't we? smile smile

Prior to our lunch today we decided to pop into the ALS boutique at the 1881 Heritage site. Mr. T was already itching for his second ALS, a bit sooner than I had expected actually. We had discussed earlier on which one would be a good follow up to the Dato. Since he was fond of chronographs he was originally drawn to the new 1815 chrono. However, with a bit of gentle nudging I steered him towards a simple 3 handed watch - the Richard Lange, which has long been a favourite of mine.

In the boutique, we were treated to impeccable service and it is always a pleasure to chat with the knowledgeable and friendly staff there and at the same time ogle at all the fine timepieces, in a pleasant surrounding.

In the end, the contenders came down to the final tray you see here:

left to right: RL in WG boutique edition, Lange 1 Lumen, RL in Pt.

The lucky Mr. T walk in without a watch on his wrist and walked out with the RL boutique edition. ( I guess he was prepared) smile Would that have been your choice too?

The ALSgoody bags ( also something in the background for sharp eyes )

The RL on the wrist

A pleasant lunch followed and again I wish to share this happy occasion with all of you here.

Right now I'm racking my brains to come up with a third ALS for my friend. smile smile

Thanks for looking.

I immediately noticed the background, with my shark eyes. :)))

The RL would have been my choice, too. And the current one, not the Boutique Edition, by the way... But not a bad Watch! As for the background, well... Well. :) Best, Nicolas

We have a lot of distractions here Nico. :)

The 3 W's are plentiful but sometimes costly. ;) Best fernando

The Lumen..

is very attractive in the metal Sam. It's unique and sure to be a talking point amongst ALS aficionados. I'm still on the fence on whether it will prove to be a long term love affair or a short fling. :) Best fernando

It sure does look attractive...

But same with you, I'm worried that it will only be a short fling... The concept is very nice... The transparent case, works very well with the Zeitwerk Luminous, as the disc constantly moves every minute I have yet to see it in metal... Hope to be able to see one one day Cheers Sam
