1997 Seiko Sport 5 Rally Diver

This is a rare and elusive watch with a lovely near impossible to find yellow star burst dial. This reference was issued only as a celebratory piece for the launch of the 1997 Rally Diver reissue line. It didn’t make it to any of the 1997-1998 Seiko catalogs. Only a very limited number were made, and most, if not all, of them were built in May 1997.
I am listing mine for sale if anyone is looking for one as I simply never wear it, and my collection has taken a different turn away from sports watches. It's time for someone else to enjoy this rare beauty.
Overall the watch is in excellent condition. I can only see minimal wear marks on watch and the clasp. I had a local watchmaker look it over recently and said it was running very well. They kept it on a watch winder for several days and it kept great time. The bezel rotates easily. Per my watchmaker, and included Seiko instruction manual, you actually don’t wind it, you gently ‘swing it from side to side’ to get it going, then wear it or put on a watch winder. It comfortably fits my 7 5/8” wrist.
